Life Lately and the Book I Didn’t Expect to Write
I’m writing to you from Ireland, and we’ve somehow been gifted an unusually glorious stretch of hot, sunny weather. After coming here for seven years, I know it’s a rare moment… so yes, I am absolutely soaking it all in. I hope your summer is off to a wonderful start.
I have to say, I forgot how refreshing it is to simply just “be” when I’m out and about. Since arriving at the beginning of May, my phone data has been off. So no option of texting, communication, or searching up a spontaneous podcast while out unless there’s wifi.
It’s funny how quickly our brains can become wired to filling the pauses.
I can definitely say turning to the scenery, surroundings, and my own thoughts has felt very mind-renewing.
That being said, there’s something that has been living in my mind full time no matter where I go, and that’s my book. It’s taken up a special place because I truly cannot wait to get it out into the world.
So… About the Book
Okay, backtrack if you’re here for the first time...
I’ve been writing a book.
It still feels strange to even say that, because I never imagined those words would come out of my mouth. Like ever. Grammar was definitely not my top subject in school. I dreaded essays.
I did enjoy creative writing and journaling, but mainly because it was just for me. I felt free from “critique” because honestly, how can you critique someone’s personal journal and life?
Anyways, it’s funny how God plants certain seeds.
I remember nearly a decade ago, my grandmother gifted me one of those fancy personal career assessments to determine what my best job options were.
I honestly can’t tell you much about the results, but I remember the assessment lady saying I needed variety in my job, creativity was key, and then ending the meeting with:
“I think there’s a book in you.”
I had no blog or any writing to show, so I still don’t know what prompted her to say that.
How the Book Began
Fast forward to January 2025.
I felt a nudge to turn my wedding advice blog into a more thoughtful series of guidance for women planning their weddings.
That email series was never released because somewhere along the journey, a book was born instead.
And it’s been unfolding for the last year and a half.
It’s a book for brides navigating not only the practical parts of wedding planning, but also the emotional and spiritual weight that often comes with such a significant season of life.
There are digital support tools, emotional encouragement, and faith woven through it.
Maybe you’re past the wedding season, or maybe it’s simply not for you right now. Either way, I want to invite you into the process in a more real way.
What’s Next
Before the book officially launches, I’m planning to share one chapter each week here with subscribers. I love the idea of letting this unfold slowly and thoughtfully rather than waiting until everything feels perfectly finished before sharing it.
I’m also going to be moving more of Grace of Belle onto Substack, where I’ll be sharing essays, reflections, book chapters, and more of the heart behind this work.
I’m still figuring Substack out, truth be told, but I’d love for you to come along as I slowly move more of my writing there alongside my site.
For those who would like an early glimpse into the book, I’ll also be offering a sample version alongside some digital templates I’ve created. Feel free to send me an email (nataliegrace@graceofbelle.com) if you’d like me to send them your way.
More details soon…
I’m very excited about what’s ahead, and I’m so grateful you’re here for it!! ☘️ 📖
Xo,
Natalie
